The trinity knot (also known as the triquetra) is one of the most prolific of the Celtic knots. It originally signified the cycle of life - Birth, Death and the Afterlife (or rebirth).
The meaning was later altered to fit in with the Christian religion with it beginning to represent the Christian trinity - Father, Son and Holy Ghost (or Spirit).
