The symbolism of the Raven is complex. As a talking bird, the Raven represents prophecy and insight. With its black plumage and croaking call the Raven is often used in mythology as a creature that connects the material world with the world of spirits; a Psychopomp or “Guide of the Soul”. Their role is not to judge but to guide to the afterlife.
